Why Perth Is A Great Place To Come To For A Hen Weekend

Ah Perth if there is one place in Scotland that is overlooked by the tourists then it is Perth. While at first glance this may not seem like an obvious choice for a hen weekend. As someone who has spent a great deal of time in Perth I can honestly tell you that this is just an amazing place. It has a very cool, old timey look to its centre and it’s also in a great location where if you want you can easily go to Dundee. So for daytime and night time fun, Perth is a great place for your hen do.

Perth does have quite a bit of history and culture going on if you fancy doing a wee bit of sightseeing during your hen weekend. Scone Palace is one of the best places in the whole of Scotland to o for a walk around. And in sticking with the medieval, historical theme there is also Hunting Tower Castle.

The Night Life In Perth

While Perth may not have the same kind of nightlife as say Edinburgh or Glasgow. There are still many fun places for a wild and crazy hen night and it’s also a hell of a lot less crowded here that the other places I mentioned. Here are some of the best spots for you to check out during your hen night.

Guest List Entry To the Loft

Perth does have a handful of really cool night clubs and one of the most popular is The Loft. This is an awesome place that has four bars so you are never without a drink. They play a really cool diverse mix of music here as well. So you will have some funky dance tunes and some old classics as well. And if you ladies are a little too tired from dancing and chatting up the locals then you can relax in the cocktail lounge. We also will hook you up with guest list entry so you do not have to wait in line outside.

A Night Of Comedy with Just Laugh

One of the best ways to ensure that you have a hen night that is full of laughs is to go and see a wee bit of live comedy before you go to a pub or club. Just Laugh are responsible for putting on some of the best comedy shows in Perth. They are putting on shows all the time and for the most part they happen at the swanky New County Hotel, but they have been known to use other venues on occasion. So if its laughs you want then come see a great Scottish comedy show!

Perth Concert Hall

Words cannot say how much I love this venue! A hen nigh can be about more than just getting hammered off cocktails. If you want to do something really fun and entertaining then I cannot recommend an evening at the Perth Concert Hall highly enough. They have a great variety of shows here from comedy, music and even live stage shows to name a few. If live entertainment is what you are after then you ladies need to see what is on offer here.

Zoo Nightclub

If you want a nightclub that is all about a wild and fun time then you need to look no further as Zoo Nightclub really is the bees knees (an expression I have never understood by the way!) here you of course get a nightclub where you can dance, flirt and drink the night away all with a big smile on your face, but they also have a karaoke bar here as well. I love karaoke and even those who are “too shy” to sing will be up there belting out their favourite tunes once they have a few drinks in them!

What Perth Has To Offer During The Day Time

Now I have for you some great ways to have a blast during the day portion of your hen weekend!

Atholl Palace Spa

This is a wee drive from the centre of Perth, but this amazing hotel located in the Perthshire highlands really is heaven on earth! A nice Spa Day is the perfect way to unwind and really make you feel like a Hollywood A list superstar. When you ladies hit the town after a day here being massaged, getting a nice facial and many other treatments you will really feel at your very best and ready to party!

Falconry Lesson

Now this is something that I am sure you did not expect! A hen weekend if you ask me should see you doing something a little odd, weird and something you would never normally do. Here you get to be hands on with nature during a fun Falconry lesson this is about 45 mins away from the centre of Perth, but it’s well worth it. Let me tell you, a huge part of the fun here is seeing your friends freak out when the birds are near them!

Perth Race Course

This is a really fun day out! Here you will get to experience the excitement of a day at the horses with a VIP edge. Now even if you are not normally into horse racing this is still a really cool place to come to during your hen do. You get to have some nice food, a few drinks, get all dressed up and perhaps even win a wee bit of money as well.

Highland Fling

No not what you are thinking! Get your mind out of the gutters ladies! This is Highland Fling Bungee Jumping and here you will get to put your bravery to the test as with the Perthshire highlands as your back drop you do a scary, but exciting bungee jump. This is really fun and while it can be very scary at first it also serves as a trust/team/friendship building activity as you can help each other build up the courage to have a go.

Eating & Places To Shop In Perth

There are a number of good places to have a nice evening meal or a spot of lunch in Perth. One of my favourites is a nice Indian called The Everest Inn which has a great menu and offers a really nice laid back place to enjoy your meal. If you want a spot of lunch where you can also indulge your sweet cravings then I highly recommend The Decadence Cafe.

As far as shopping goes, Perth has a wonderful High Street that has a decent variety of shops. But the reason I love to shop here is the layout and look of the place. A nice slow walk down this high street is just flat out awesome. If you want some indoor shopping then there is always the St Johns Shopping Centre that has a few stores for you to look at.

Is It Easy To Get To Perth?

Yes is the answer to that. You see Perth is a great place for a hen weekend not just because it has plenty of things to do, but it’s also really easy to get to. No matter if you are driving here or coming by train, you will have no issues at all getting here. Perth is actually really well connected to the rest of Scotland via train so that is the easiest way to get here.
