If you are just thinking lets do something different for dinner this could be the answer. Dinner in a candlelit Riga restaurant that specializes in recreating a medieval atmosphere (sans the Black Death we presume) and provides a platter of typical food from the period.
Basically it is a bit of a lark and amazingly enough for what has to be a bit of a tourist idea it attracts the top local politicians and celebrities (if such a thing actually exists in Latvia).
The dinner consists of a three-course meal and one pint of lager plus tea or coffee and mineral water - the latter is presumably a post-modern ironic touch since they certainly didn't drink fucking mineral water in the middle ages.
